Born Under the law of British nationality for children in the United Kingdom after January 1983 is not automatically entitled to British citizenship, unless it be the father (s British), Irish, or treated as legally established in birth (parents should for an indefinite or the nationality of a Member State of residence to meet the EU requirement to have). If you do not meet the above criteria, the child must have the nationality of their parents.

In this case the persons on student visas or work are not found to be in force, unless the other parent can meet the above criteria, the child must have his citizenship. You should contact the embassy of their home country to register the birth of their son with them and ask for a passport. You should also talk with the Home Office to find out what you need to do to add it to your child about your visa.

If you are a permanent resident, you are a form MN1 file basically a simple application for citizenship for the child. Once approved, the child will acquire British nationality.

If the child is living permanently in the United Kingdom until the age of ten years, the child acquires British citizenship.

Note: (For those who said that the child gets automatic citizenship of the mother, an obscure reference myth curious) or parents: United Kingdom May a decision on issues of citizenship for their own citizens and their own nation. This does mean in any way, have the power to transfer the nationality of another sovereign state for no one. It is strictly the province of the country and the nation only.

According to the law in force since 1 January 1983, a child in the United Kingdom, a parent who is born of a British citizen or 'settled' in the UK is automatically a British citizen by birth. Only one parent needs to fulfill this requirement, either the father or the mother.
